With the recent completion of Audubon’s indoor percussion season, the marching band season is quickly approaching. Audubon’s indoor percussion season went exceedingly well, with the ensemble placing fourth at the TIA Atlantic Coast Championships on Saturday, May 4th. With the indoor season completed, the marching band is in great shape for the upcoming outdoor season. With the marching band season being directly in the middle of summer, it’s stark to see the difficulty of the activity. While some may disagree, performing in the marching band takes more skill and coordination than assumed. With the season beginning around June and ending in November, students who perform are in it for the long run. With the season starting up soon, instructors and other staff of the band are hard at work learning the show, as well as working to get new members in the band, one of the most important aspects of marching band.
