Mr. Scully’s Girl Soccer team went very far this season, finishing with a record of 16-5 and a school record with 14 shutouts. They were division champs going 10-0 in the division. The team only let up 2 goals in the 10 division games with Gabby Brook and Kylie Cannaday splitting the duties in goal.

Though the team had a lot of younger players, with only 4 seniors, the underclassmen improved as the season went on and made a big impact. Makenna Ammon, Molly Sullivan, Riley Fayer, Erin Ewing, Mia Blake, Ava Rizzo and Peyton Marrone were all named 1st team all conference.  Makenna Ammon was also named All South Jersey.

The girl soccer season starts in June and they practice throughout the summer. Mr. Scully says, “We work on our different formations, fitness, and overall team building during the summer.  Our preseason is where we are looking to see who can compete at the highest level. Competition is what makes us great.  We have a really tight knit group of girls, they work hard and push each other while at the same time building great relationships.”

The team advanced to the South Jersey Finals but took a loss, 4-1 against Palmyra. Mr. Scully said, “In the
South Jersey final our rhythm was off.  For a lot of the game we had the pressure in their end. We just couldn’t find the goal. The tough loss in the South Jersey finals is something we can build on for next season.” He finished off with, “We a
re proud of the success we have had but are always looking to be better.”

The returning girls are excited to continue their success in the 2023 Season.
