On December 9th 2022, Audubon High School held our annual Winter Ball Dance for the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Overall, it was an outstanding night for the students. The beautiful gowns and suits made each student look breathtaking for the entire evening. Silver and blue decorated Auletto turning the night into a Winter Wonderland. However, like most school dance themes, the masquerade element of the night was largely forgotten in favor of just having an enjoyable time. For the first time, the DJ allowed the Student Council to compile a requests list of songs to improve the music selection.

The highlight of the evening was the delicious ice-cream served at the end of the night. The melt in your mouth vanilla paired with an assortment of sweets and toppings was a huge hit.

The crowning of the Winter Ball King and Queen wrapped up the night. Unlike Prom and Homecoming, the court is selected and voted on by teachers. The King and Queen are nominated based on those who exemplify a positive role model and are good people to their fellow peers. The nominees were Gabrielle Campbell, Mary Kate Owens, Kennedy Coleman, Lauren Costello, Vivian Dong, Zach Vilardo, David Amorosi, Joseph, Gaspari, Taylor Donnelly, and Joe Moran.

The 2022 Winter Ball Queen and King went to Kennedy Coleman and Zach Vilardo.

Kennedy Coleman has been an Audubon student her whole life. She has been enrolled in both band and choir for the majority of her time here, was a cast member in multiple musical productions, and a member of the choir ensemble.

Zach Vilardo first came to Audubon High School in 7th grade after attending school in Mt. Ephraim.  He has been in band and marching band all four years of high school. He has also participated in Jazz band and Indoor Percussion.

The two shared the traditional slow dance, albeit much shorter than normal. The Winter Ball was an amazing experience for the students and another great success.
